ANZAC Day Virtual Marathon

This annual event started in 2016 as a remembrance run on Anzac Day, now has grown to support more local Gold Coast RSL veterans with the Anzac Day Virtual Marathon.

In 2025, we had 129 officially registered participants, nearly 100 tops purchased, 8 gold sponsors with 2 silver and 3 bronze plus 4 supportive partners.

We have come together, running and walking during April to raise a grand total of $12,300!!!

All proceeds are directly donated to our ‘home’ RSL of Runaway Bay RSL Sub Branch, along with Mudgeeraba Robina RSL Sub Branch and our new beneficiary this year, Burleigh Heads RSL Sub Branch.

The event starts from the 1st April to 25th April.

Your goal is to complete, 42.2km over the 25 days.

Your event, your way - run/walk an average of 1.69km per day in a remembrance of our veterans, past and present.

Wish to challenge yourself, then push your goal distance to double or triple!

SPECIAL EARLY BIRD COMBO DEAL - register in January and pre-order the singlet and/or t-shirt size you want. Only from noon Saturday 17th - 31st January. Registration and merchandise prices increase closer to the event due to production, postage, and delivery timelines. Early Bird registrations receive the best value.

We are very proud to support our local RSL veterans.

From our first donation in 2020, we have now raised just over $30,000!!

The proceeds are donated to the RSL Sub Branch, with the funds used to directly benefit the welfare of the members from bus trips, poppy services, visits to aged care, transport to/from meetings and functions and a pool table for enjoyment.

You can do this event anywhere

Participants join the virtual marathon from all over Australia. In 2025, we had a Canadian do the virtual marathon and he even did the full distance to correspond with us running on Anzac Day!

We have participants sign up from all over Queensland, NSW, ACT, Victoria, SA & WA - we haven’t had someone from Tassie or NT, so let’s make this a goal to achieve in 2026 - spread the word!!

25th of April
Come along on ANZAC Day, starting from Runaway Bay RSL, to complete your kilometres. We will be running 42.2km and you can join for any distance you like. You could also hold your own run in your area. Everyone is welcome!
